Deer Species UK
UK wild deer numbers – some estimates are as high as two million – are growing. A combination of mild winters, good food supply and woodland cover means that increased culling is needed to prevent still higher population growth.
Of the six species of UK deer only two – Red and Roe – are truly native. Fallow deer were introduced by the Normans for hunting, whilst Sika, Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer were Victorian imports and subsequently park escapees.
We sell the kit they choose to use, including products to suit most budgets at competitive prices.
We know shooters have strong ideas about the kit they prefer and not all products will suit everyone’s taste or needs. But we have been listening to people’s comments through our social media groups and have tried to reflect some of this range in the products we have tested and offer for sale. And we have tried to source products that they use to sell to readers through our online shop.
